Every child has dreams, and sometimes it is the simplest wishes that carry the most meaning.
For six-year-old Tipagaya, life has been a journey filled with challenges, but also with laughter, play, and an unshakable sparkle in her eyes. Together with her mother, Rukaya Fuseini, she travelled all the way from the Northern Region to Accra, where she spent many months in and out of hospital care. Despite the long days away from home, Tipagaya’s cheerful nature never dimmed — she loved to sing, to play, and to share joy with everyone around her.
This year, Little Angels Trust introduced our Wish Program, giving the children we support a chance to express what they long for, and allowing us the privilege of making those dreams come true. When asked what she wished for, Tipagaya’s requests were simple, yet heartfelt: a pair of shoes, toys, and colouring books.
On a warm afternoon, our team gathered with her and her mother for a farewell visit. What awaited her was more than just a gift — it was a celebration of her courage and a reminder that she is deeply loved. In front of her, a suitcase filled with treasures was opened: bright shoes to carry her steps, toys to spark her imagination, and colouring books to fill with all the colours of her world. Her eyes lit up, her laughter filled the room, and for a moment, joy washed over everyone present.
But the gift did not end there. Knowing that the family was preparing to return home to the Northern Region, Little Angels Trust also extended start-up support to her mother, Rukaya — a seed of hope for a new beginning, a way to rebuild as they step into the next chapter of life together.
It was a bittersweet day. A day of smiles and tears, of farewells and fresh starts. For Rukaya, the gratitude was immeasurable. For Tipagaya, the happiness was pure. And for all of us at Little Angels Trust, it was a reminder of why we do what we do: because every child deserves a reason to smile.
