The month of August 2025 was a very significant one for Little Angels Trust. We dedicated the entire month to shining a light on mental health in children, an area of advocacy that is deeply important to us and one that is often overlooked in our communities.
For six-year-old Tipagaya, life has been a journey filled with challenges, but also with laughter, play, and an unshakable sparkle in her eyes. Together with her mother, Rukaya Fuseini, she travelled all the way from the Northern Region to Accra, where she spent many months in and out of hospital care. Despite the long days away from home, Tipagaya’s cheerful nature never dimmed — she loved to sing, to play, and to share joy with everyone around her.
In 2018, Little Angels Trust took a bold step of faith and built a Respite Center at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital—a safe haven where children can laugh, play, and simply be children, even in the midst of their challenges. It was not an easy journey; gathering funds, securing approvals, and pushing through countless hurdles was a true test of our resolve. But with perseverance, faith, and the support of incredible individuals, we made it happen.
At Little Angels Trust, every child’s story is a testament to courage, hope, and resilience. For over two decades, our charity has walked alongside children battling cancer and mental health challenges, offering support, comfort, and the assurance that they are not alone. From hospital beds to homes, our mission has always been to stand in the gap—filling it with love, care, and dignity.
On 2nd August 2025, the Little Angels Trust team had the honor of celebrating a group of professionals whose work often goes unseen but whose impact is deeply felt—the nurses and health workers at the Children’s Department of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
For 21 years, Little Angels Trust has been a steadfast beacon of hope for some of the most vulnerable children in Ghana — those battling cancer, and mental health challenges. What began humbly at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Children’s Department, Oncology Unit, has now blossomed into a powerful force for good, expanding its love and care to four additional hospitals:
In today’s fast-paced professional world, success is often measured by promotions, accolades, and financial milestones. But the greatest impact a person can make often lies not within boardrooms or courtrooms, but in the lives of those who need hope the most — children fighting for their lives.
There is a kind of heartbreak that words cannot fully capture — the sight of a child, frail and small, fighting a disease far bigger than themselves. There is also a kind of hope that words often fail to describe — the hope that is kindled when a stranger walks into a hospital room with nothing to offer but their time, their kindness, and their heart.
In Ghana today, there is a silent crisis that too often goes unnoticed: the mental health struggles of our children. While the world around us grows louder in conversations about mental well-being, one vulnerable group remains largely invisible — children battling mental health challenges.
