Welcome

Little Angels Trust

Little Angels Trust is a not-for-profit Charitable Organisation with a very deep passion for helping children with life-threatening illnesses, such as cancer, in the United Kingdom and in developing countries like Ghana, West Africa.

VISION

MISSION

Little Angels Trust Childrens’ Charity was founded out of a traumatic experience in 2004, in the United Kingdom, and formally gained its charitable status in 2007. LAT is also a fully registered charity in Ghana, West Africa.

Our teams draw on their lifetime of experiences and valued expertise to see to the day to day operations of Little Angels Trust.

They manage the Charity and are responsible for the effective running of this organisation.   Each volunteer is dedicated and committed enough to sponsor themselves therefore every penny raised goes directly to our projects. Each ‘Angel’ is directly involved in every way to make sure this is possible. They roll up their sleeves and get down to the ‘nitty gritty’ of affairs to achieve their goals regardless of the huge challenges.

Even though LAT is not funded by any government or other major organisations, we make sure that what we raise reaches those who need it most. We let our record and our work speak for us.

MISSION RESPITE CENTRE ACCOMPLISHED!!!

Why We Help

While we may not be able to take away their pain and suffering altogether, we can help them refocus their attention on other ways and help them smile through their pain.

This is such a priceless gift!

Your donations will help us to create cheerful and happy recreational centres within these hospitals to aid the recovery and healing process.

Some of these brave children’s conditions may be terminal, so each day is a bonus and they need our help. Every little bit goes a long way so come on and be an Angel.

Thank You.

CHILDREN'S WARD, ACCRA PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL, GHANA

Appeal For Funds for Our ‘Adopted Special Needs’ Children’s Project!

While we may not be able to take away their pain and suffering altogether, we can help them refocus their attention on other ways and help them smile through their pain.

“No contribution is too small”

We have a very exciting project for our Special Needs children at the Psychiatric Hospital Children’s Ward and we are appealing to you for help.

Little Angels Trust, over the past few years, has been visiting these forgotten Special Needs Children interact and cheer them up, especially at our ‘Christmas Party of Hope’ celebrations. It has been the Charity’s desire to take the children out for a ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ at least once a year but it has not been possible for a variety of reasons.

However, on the premises of the Hospital sits an abandoned playground which we discovered last year through the kind prompting of one medical official. We jumped at this golden opportunity to bring it back to life so we can, on Christmas and other occasions, bring these children out without the often elaborate planning, costs and other challenges associated with taking such severely disabled children out of their boundaries.

Little Angels Trust  is therefore appealing for your support to make this a reality for the children. Can you help?

THE RAINBOW RECREATIONAL PROJECT

The Rainbow Recreational Project is a Play and Learn centre at the Cancer Unit. Department of Child Health, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital- Accra, Ghana. This gives the children a chance to interact with each other, allowing them to divert their attention from their health to playing and learning with other children, as many of them do not go to school due to their health conditions.

Little Angel Trust, a charitable organization on Friday 12th February 2021 visited the Korle-Bu Children’s Block, specifically the Cancer Unit, Ward and Intensive Care Baby Unit to help cheer and bring smiles to the children on admission as well as those at the Daycare Cancer Unit.

Items donated include goody bags, packed with heart shaped lollipops, three bottles of water, three/four individual cookies, kalypo carton fruit juice and delicious cupcakes.

At the intensive care baby unit, each baby on admission received brand new items like baby clothes ranging from a week old to a year old, in addition to the clothing were baby shoes, socks, knitted baby blankets, bonnets, panties and knitted jackets, hoods and some dresses and the team made sure there was so much Valentine cheerfulness to keep their spirits up.

The highlight of our visit was to provide much needed funds to sponsor children’s cancer treatments and lifesaving surgeries. Little Angels Trust genuinely believes that the gift of life is the greatest act of love and to demonstrate this, we made a cash donation of Twelve Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghs 12,000.00) which was presented to the Pediatric medical team headed by Professor Lorna Awo Renner to help support our little Angels.

The donation was part of the organisation’s annual event to celebrate valentine with the children in hospital and as well as help put smiles on their brave faces.

Matron Leticia, who received the items on behalf of the Hospital thanked management of the Organization for their kind gesture.

We also want to thank our Angel Volunteers Lydia and Sammy our balloon Angels, Isaac and his lovely wife for their selfless dedication of service and to our committed IT consultant, Mr. Dadson, for presenting the donation on the charity’s behalf. Our biggest appreciation to all our Partner Angels who sponsored our ‘Angelic Love’ visit to the hospital. We are truly grateful for your continued generosity, kindness and wish you the very best in every way. God richly bless you all.

OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Gratitude Friday – For the love of children with autism and other mental health conditions. We deeply appreciate all our sponsors.

THANK YOU!!!

They requested a trampoline, we promised and delivered with the most amazing results. The children’s reactions were quite extraordinary and miraculous.

What we witnessed was more than anything we had ever experienced in all the years that we’ve been visiting these special needs children. Absolutely awesome!

NEW PARTNERSHIP!!!

We’ve had a few invitations to visit the Children’s hospital in the busy city centre of Accra but we haven’t been able to due to the lack of resources. However, a few weeks ago we took the bold step of faith with the little we had for the babies and we were blown away by the hospitality and the need for support. So there, we have a new challenge and together we can make a huge difference like we’ve done in other hospitals. We can indeed!

She was a huge part of our lives and we cherish, respect and love her dearly. Hawa has played a huge role in the lives of all the other children at the Rainbow Centre. Honouring her is the least we can do.

FUN DAY AT THE PARK – 5K SPONSORED RUN/JOG/WALK

Our fundraising champion for our fun run on July 4, 2015 is Amaia. Eight-year-old Amaia completed the 5K run with adults last year and also joined the children’s race. She raised about £180 in total to support critically and terminally ill children. A great example of children supporting children – a noble cause. Your donations are warmly welcome to help Amaia reach her goal this year.

LAT DONATES TO GOSH: Continuing a legacy…

In accordance with our passion to promote the healthcare needs of children, Little Angels Trust, over the years, has donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital. GOSH is a children’s hospital located in the Bloomsbury area of London, and a part of GOSH for Children NHS Foundation Trust.

Little Angels Trust donate to GOSH not only because they are supporting children in a similar way to us, but also because the charity hopes that through supporting a hospital, such as GOSH, for their research in medical science, so that when there is a breakthrough, we will be able to support children even better than we already do.

The Gift of Life is a great act of LOVE

Valentine Visit:

It’s our tradition to meet up with pediatric cancer specialists and medical professionals at the beginning of every year to give financial assistance to cancer children. Last year we were able to support twelve cancer patients who are recovering well now,

…and that’s what we did on Valentine’s day

We’re grateful to all our incredible Partner Angels who contribute to the lives of our brave little champions.
