We were introduced to this brave little boy during one of our visits to the Cancer Ward of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra Ghana. He was on admission with half his face swollen with tumours and could hardly eat or speak.
After a brief chat with his family who had to travel such a long distance from the northern part of the country, we met up with Dr Lorna Renner, the cancer specialist treating him and decided to come to the family’s aid and assist with his hospital and medical fees.
We felt helpless but very hopeful in the beginning and he pulled through to make an exceptional recovery. After his chemotherapy treatments he was discharged from hospital to go home.
Zak’s condition keeps improving but obviously will need monitoring and is due back in hospital as an outpatient.
To see Zak smiling again is such great joy. To make his wish come true, we gave him a bicycle for Christmas, something he’s always wanted.
We want to help many more children like Zak and with your help we can. Please Donate Now!
